Latest Updates from Our Project:
Night of Wolves Update 12 — Digital Samples Have Arrived!
– Thu, Mar 26, 2026 at 03:43:24 PM
Hello there,
We’ve got them in hand! The first digital print samples for Sublime Dark, Ruined Path, and Night of Wolves have arrived, and they’re looking seriously tasty. Before anything else — these are not mass production copies. These are pre-production samples and colour proofs, printed digitally rather than via the final offset process. Their purpose is purely to let us physically review everything before we give the green light on full production.
What We’re Checking
This stage is absolutely critical for us, and we take it seriously — even if it means spending an eye-watering amount on samples. Over the next couple of weeks or so we’ll be going through everything with a fine-tooth comb:
Component quality
Every card — layout, alignment, colour balance
Rulebooks — clarity, formatting, final polish
Overall usability — does it all feel right at the table
All text — typos, grammar, consistency, and with the Sublime Tales Storybook that's basically a novel's worth of text, so we beg your continuing patience!
This is our last chance to catch anything before we lock the files for mass production.
What Happens Next
Once we’re satisfied:
We submit any final corrections
Files are locked for production
Mass production begins
We request an early mass production copy to double-check there are no manufacturing issues
Only then do we move into full-scale printing and freight.
First Impressions
Initial reaction? We’re dead excited. Seeing everything physically together — the cards, the tiles, the insane art, the sheer presence of these games — is a big moment. It’s the point where these projects stop being files on a screen and start becoming real, tangible things. There’s still work to do, but this is a major step forward.
Couple of cool, initial notes:
The boxes for both Night of Wolves and Ruined Path have a small cardboard 'step' inside. If you sleeve your cards with the add-on Hall or Nothing card sleeves we're offering you just remove the step and they will fit perfectly snugly (I've already tried this). And if you're not sleeving, simply leave the step in and they will also fit perfectly snugly.
The Playmats for all the games are super luxurious. Our artists (and printers) have outdone themselves once again.
Sneak Peek
Here’s a look at what just landed on our table:
Next Update
We’ll report back once we’ve completed the full review and confirmed production timelines with our printing partners. As always, thanks for sticking with us — we’re getting very close now. :D
Cheers,
Tristan
Update 11 — Pledge Manager Closing + CNY
– Mon, Feb 23, 2026 at 04:46:54 AM
Hello there,
Just a quick update to say we did get all the files in beforehand, but we're in a holding pattern until March now as we wait for the factories to reopen after Chinese New Year. I’ll be back with more news next month once things start moving again.
In the meantime we've sent out notifications that the Backerkit pledge manager is locking completed orders tomorrow. If you still haven't filled yours in, please do so by the end of February so we can have things run as smoothly as possible into the next steps of freight shipping and fulfilment.
As always, drop me a message ([email protected]) if you’d like any help and have a ruddy brilliant rest of the month!
Cheers,
Tristan
Update 10 — Pledge Manager Live!
– Tue, Jan 27, 2026 at 10:53:29 AM
Hello there,
Files Submitted
All of the card files for both games are submitted to the printers now. We're just waiting on templates for the game box files to finalise everything. Honestly, I'm delighted with how far along we are on this project.
BackerKit Pledge Manager Is Live NOW
The smoke test has gone out successfully, and a small number of you have locked in your pledges. So if you haven't already, please take a moment to complete your pledge as soon as you can. Locking in final numbers early really helps us firm up production quantities and keep everything moving smoothly — with the goal, as always, of getting these games into your hands as quickly and cleanly as possible. If you have trouble logging in or lose your survey to junk or something, here's the direct link: https://night-of-wolves.backerkit.com.
Card Sleeves
Card Sleeves packs for both Night of Wolves AND Ruined Path are now available in BackerKit, simply click to add them to your pledge if required. One set of Ruined Path sleeves is enough to cover that game with a bunch to spare in case of accidents (or future promos), and the same goes for the Night of Wolves sleeves. As always, email us if you're having any difficulties at all: [email protected]
Sublime Discounts
Since they're shipping at the same time, we've elected to offer you guys the Kickstarter discounts on Sublime Dark (and its promo pack and playmat). It's radically different from these small box games, so no pressure if it's not your bag, but the offer is there if you want something unique, horrifying, disgusting, and beautiful! You can check out the Kickstarter campaign for Sublime Dark here:
Always lovely to hear Kreel Manor pop up in solo gaming chats. Candice Harris and Ken Kuhn discussing their 26×5 Solo Gaming Challenge on the KIC Podcast — some cracking games on that list.
Thanks again for all the support — we’re into the make-it-happen phase now, and what a good place to be.
Cheers!

Update 9 — Final Hours! Ruined Path Video + Knight of Tears
3 months ago
– Tue, Jan 06, 2026 at 12:02:06 PM
Hello there,
Final Hours — Thank You, Truly
With just 3 hours to go, we wanted to pause and say a heartfelt thank you!
As of right now, Night of Wolves & Ruined Path stand at £72,885 pledged, from 1,131 backers, against a £10,000 goal. That level of support for these small box solo games is humbling — and it means more to us than we can neatly put into words. Whether you backed on day one, joined us late, shared the page, left a comment, or simply followed along quietly… thank you. This campaign has been intense, generous, thoughtful, and deeply encouraging.
Ruined Path How-To-Play Video
If you’re curious to see how Ruined Path plays, we’ve just published a YouTube video showing the flow of the deck-building, the tension curve, and how the game feels to play:
Knight of Tears?
Many of you have asked what might come afterNight of Wolves. With that in mind, we wanted to share a small teaser — a whisper of what could be. Knight of Tears is a potential future project using the same core system as Night of Wolves, re-imagined for post-Conquest England. You would play a Saxon warrior fleeing the aftermath of the Battle of Hastings — hunted, dispossessed, and trying to survive in a land that no longer recognises you. Just an idea I care deeply about — and one I’d love to explore if the appetite is there...
Final Hours!
If you’ve been sitting on the fence, this is the last stretch. In four hours, the campaign closes — and Night of Wolves and Ruined Path move from ideas to reality. Thank you again, for walking these darker paths with us — and for trusting us to lead the way. Whatever you decide in these final hours, we’re immensely grateful.
Onward, with the wolves, and through the wilds…

Update 8 — New Content: Extra Cards for Ruined Path! 48 hours to go, and 2 more videos...
– Sun, Jan 04, 2026 at 03:54:40 PM
Hello there,
With 48 hours left on the campaign, we wanted to take a moment to say a big, fat thank you. Whether you’ve backed on day one, crept in quietly, or are still watching from the treeline, your support means everything to us. Night of Wolves and Ruined Path exist because of people who believe in small, focused games, strong atmosphere, tiny indie publishers, and cool fantasy adventures. We’re nearly at the finish line now — and both games are ready to walk straight into production. But first...
No Stretch Goals — But More Game Anyway
As mentioned on the page, we’re not running stretch goals for this campaign. Both games are already complete, balanced, tested, and ready to send to print as soon as the campaign closes, so no “unlocking” components that should have been there in the first place.
BUT… We’re still adding something extra. Because — as veteran Hall or Nothing backers will attest — apparently we don’t know how to behave ourselves. :D
Free Bonus: 3 Class Cards for Ruined Path!
Every copy of Ruined Path will now include three brand-new Class Cards, letting you choose your hero’s speciality and unleash a once-per-game boost:
Wilder Archer — bend the forest to your will
Sword Sage — channel knowledge into raw survival
Penitent Cleric — trust faith to endure a little longer
These are included for free, automatically, in every pledge that contains Ruined Path. Because that’s the kind of reckless generosity that keeps us up at night. :P
Rolling Solo Playthrough Video
The excellent Rolling Solo has released a full Night of Wolves solo playthrough and gameplay overview, and it’s a great way to see the game breathe on the table. If you’re curious about:
how the encounter deck unfolds,
choices under pressure,
boss danger,
how flipping brutal it can be,
or what the game feels like to play solo,
this video has it all. It’s a proper sit-down session demonstrating the flow, tension, and decision-making at the heart of Night of Wolves, and you can watch it here:
Will Stephens kindly invited me onto the Comic Con Podcast for a chat about my path into full-time board game design/publishing, the Kilforth world, the history games, and what we’re working on right now. We also talk solo gaming, favourite non-Hall or Nothing games, and the realities of learning (and forgetting…) rules. You can tune in here:
However you’ve supported this project — backing, sharing, commenting, or simply following along — thank you. We’re proud of these games, grateful for your trust, and excited to get them into your hands.
